Liverpool without Henderson in the last three weeks

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson will be out of action for about three weeks due to a hamstring injury.

Henderson suffered from the end of the 1-0 defeat at Atletico Madrid on February 18. The test results later showed that the 29-year-old English midfielder suffered a hamstring injury, had to take a break for three weeks.

However, coach Jurgen Klopp thinks that Liverpool is lucky because Henderson’s injury is not too serious when compared to some other cases.

Henderson grimaced with a hamstring pain at the end of the defeat to Atletico Madrid on February 18.

“Henderson’s injury may have been much more serious. There are many types of hamstring injuries in the Premier League, with severe cases like Harry Kane,” the German military told Sky Sports on February 21. “If not too bad, Henderson will only take a three-week break. Of course, this is not fun, but we think we are still lucky.”

With three weeks of injury, Henderson will be absent when Liverpool meet West Ham, Watford, then Bournemouth in the English Premier League, meet Chelsea in the FA Cup fifth round. He is also unlikely to recover to play when Liverpool host Atletico Madrid in the second leg of the 1/8 Champions League round on March 11.

Klopp therefore began to calculate the alternative personnel plan from the match against West Ham in the 27th Premier League round, Tuesday 25/2. “I may have to change some positions, because except Henderson, the remaining players are completely healthy,” he said.

Henderson is one of the players who have played the most games for Liverpool this season, with 34 appearances in all competitions. Particularly in the Premier League, this midfielder played 25 matches, including 22 main matches, contributed three goals and five assists.

Without Henderson, Klopp coach still has many alternatives such as Fabinho, James Milner, Naby Keita, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Wijnaldum, Lallana or young star Curtis Jones.
